The Memorial football team played its first varsity football game on Friday against Celina, an established program that has won eight state championships.
Memorial lost the game, but the Warriors got their first taste of the Friday Night Lights. Matt Sanders passed for 70 yards for Memorial.
Memorial plays Independence on Thursday at 7 p.m. at FISD Memorial Stadium.
